“Don’t tell them I haven’t seen it,” Trip said, rapidly trying to change subject. “I’m sure it’s a fine show, but I don’t got time for that, in between classes and shit like this.” He motioned to the radio sitting on his lap. “Even though we recently watched a 12-hour nature doc. Yeah, just don’t bring it up. At all.”
“Am I really part of this team? Haven’t even seen most of ‘em.”
“Thanks for giving me something to blackmail you with,” Skye laughed, no trace of prior vulnerability in her voice. The topic change had been sudden, but she knew how to effortlessly switch between emotions, even if she didn’t mean it. “Correction, you watched it. I dozed off, like, half an hour later. Unless you didn’t notice that. In which case, I most definitely watched it. Great cinematography. Some really majestic shots of bald eagles.”
“Do you think I have? The member I hang out with the most doesn’t even answer my texts. I’ve seen Jemma and Coulson in the past two days, and that’s about it. I really hope they’re fine.”
