“You blackmail me, I swear to god-” Trip pointed one menacing finger at Skye, raising an eyebrow. “You won’t even see what’s coming.” He moved his finger forward to boop her on the nose.
“Yeah, but you knew them beforehand. Outside of just seeing them in the hallway and the occasional text, maybe, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone outside of you or Coulson. If we’re gonna work as a team, we should at least know each other better. I’d sleep better at night knowing I could trust all the people watching my back.”
Skye swatted his hand away with complete disregard for the continuous buzzing coming from her phone. “I’m terrified. That was terrifying.”
“And when another person joins the team, they’ll tell you just that, and you will say that, yeah, of course they want to watch 12-hour documentaries with you, but they’re just busy people. Busy people I trus- Why is this happening.” It was said more as a statement than a question, and she finally picked up her phone to check on a possible crisis. Moments later, Skye was already on her feet, laptop tucked under her arm and thoughts working at an acute speed. “Gotta go. Fast. Rain check on this? Find another hallway we can sit in. Lo-” she started, though faltered at the realisation of what she was subconsciously about to say. Her last words before rushing away were, “Look for Fitz. Don’t fight over Jemma, bond.”
