Trip stepped onto the green of the comms campus and chuckled to himself when he saw that it was nearly empty, save for a few students under trees, typing away on laptops. There were always people on the ops campus sparring on the lawn, and he wouldn’t be surprised if the scitech campus was filled with kids studying. But on the comms campus it was quiet and peaceful. It was hard for him to feel at ease with HYDRA about, though; the peace felt fake and forced.

But he was here for a reason and not even HYDRA would stop him. Taking the stairs two at a time, he entered the comms building and went straight to Skye’s office, hoping to find her there. After all, he’d brought her something.

“Surprise!”

As of lately, Skye had turned into a light sleeper. It happened suddenly, her naps getting replaced by haphazardly chosen activities that’d serve as a temporary distraction to a permanent problem. This time, underslept and restless, she’d discovered her unease about the slightly wonky panel in her office wall, but her investigation got cut short by the sound of her office door opening.

Having hit her head against the edge of the table with a quiet, but impactful curse, she emerged from under it with as much grace as she could muster, smile already prominent on her features. “Surprised,” she stated. “Hi.”
